May 26, 2008 Our ranch to Balmorhea, TX Camera icon Balmorhea State Park - our summer travel begins! We love Balmorhea SP!
May 27, 2008 Balmorhea, Tx to Las Cruces, NM Hacienda RV Resort - neat as a pin and always a favorite!
May 29, 2008 Las Cruces, NM to Tucson, AZ Beaudry RV Resort - The restaurant was open again for breakfast and lunch, but don't assume it will be open - it might fold again
May 30, 2008 Tucson, AZ to Phoenix, AZ (Tolleson) Getting service performed at Freightliner and the Cummins dealers
June 3, 2008 Phoenix, AZ to Yuma, AZ Visiting with our friends Cliff and Mary at their place
June 4, 2008 Yuma, AZ to San Diego, CA San Diego RV Resort - we're in San Diego for a wedding - tight/old park, right off the Interstate. Not much maneuvering room
June 8, 2008 San Diego, CA to Gila Bend, AZ Camera icon Augie's Quail Trail RV Park 110 degrees here!! WOW! I met Augie - nice guy and the park is large and spacious
June 10, 2008 Gila Bend, AZ to Williams, AZ Camera icon Grand Canyon Railway RV Park - we're here to ride the train! Beautiful and new RV park right adjacent to the train! Very handy!
June 14, 2008 Williams, AZ to Sun Valley (Navajo county), AZ Camera icon Root (yes Root!) 66 RV Park - okay for an overnight - just hookups and nothing fancy. Very handy for touring the nearby Painted Desert/Petrified Forest
June 15, 2008 Sun Valley, AZ to Prewitt, NM Camera icon Bluewater Lake State Park - run-down and poor security. You DO NOT want to get near this place on the weekends - very popular with the locals. People driving in and out all hours of the day and night
June 20, 2008 Prewitt, NM to Albuquerque, NM American RV Park - Friendly, attentive staff. Lots of amenities.  Sites need to be longer - we had to park our Jeep sideways so we would clear the street
June 23, 2008 Albuquerque, NM, to Cochiti Lake, NM Camera icon Cochiti Lake Corp. of Engineers Recreation Area - nice! Large sites. Whoever designed the electrical layout didn't have a clue - the pedestals are on the wrong side of the campsites!
June 27, 2008 Cochiti Lake, NM to Santa Fe, NM Camera icon Santa Fe Skies RV Park - overrated and overpriced. Narrow and unlevel sites
June 30, 2008 Santa Fe, NM to Canyon, TX Palo Duro Canyon State Park - site #81 Mesquite Campground - nice park and an exciting drive in and out! Handy to see the long-running outdoor musical drama - "TEXAS"
July 7, 2008 Canyon, TX to South Haven, KS Oasis RV Park - always a favorite overnight stop on I-35 - easy in and out and long pull-throughs. Passport America park
July 8, 2008 South Haven, KS to Eaglesville, MO Eagle Ridge RV Park - old with lots of trees that need to be trimmed up. We hit several branches on our way in and out. 50 amp power didn't work - paid for 50 and got 30. Only about three or four pull-throughs. This is our second or third time here and we won't be back
July 9, 2008 Eaglesville, MO to Forest City, IA Camera icon Winnebago Rally Park for the Grand National Rally - our first! We arrived about ten days early to have some service done. We stayed at Rally Park and the Visitor's Center.  We always enjoy our time in Forest City
July 27, 2008 Forest City, IA - Clear Lake, IA Camera icon Oakwood RV Park - wow full hookups!  We had only electric for two weeks while we were in Forest City. Oakwood is a hidden jewel!!
July 28, 2008 Clear Lake, IA to Forest City, IA Whoops - the right rear brake light still isn't working! Back to FC. They replaced the turn-signal multi-function switch on the steering column.  Finally it's fixed!
July 30, 2008 Forest City, IA to Walnut, IA Camera icon Red Carpet Inn and RV Park - what a dump! Don't bother!
July 31, 2008 Walnut, IA to Henderson, NE Camera icon Prairie Oasis RV Park - nice place. It's an old KOA so the sites are narrow, but plenty long.
August 1, 2008 Henderson, NE to Ogallala, NE Camera icon Country View Campground - excellent overnight stop. Friendly owner, and the longest sites I have ever seen - they must be 100' long!
August 3, 2008 Ogallala, NE to Colorado Springs, CO Camera icon Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort - nice place, wooded but the premium sites are mostly satellite-friendly
August 6, 2008 Colorado Springs, CO to Ridgway, CO Camera icon Ridgway State Park - very nice SP with FULL hookups.  The better sites are closest to the river
August 6, 2008 Ridgway, CO to Silverton, CO Camera icon Peaks of Silverton RV Park - new park and one of the best in the area. Silverton is a great place to base out for for 4-wheeling in the San Juan Mountains
August 14, 2008 Silverton, CO to Haviland Lake, CO Camera icon Haviland Lake Forest Service Campground - 18 miles North of Durango. Only electrical hookups, scattered water faucets and *NO DUMP*. This CG was not designed for my 40' coach and if you look at the picture, our front tires are way off the ground and the electric pedestal is on the wrong side :-(
August 15, 2008 Haviland Lake, CO to Belen, NM Camera icon La Mirada B&B and RV Park - we figured this was about half-way between Haviland Lake and Las Cruces and look pretty nice from my Internet research. It wasn't too bad - see my comments attached to the picture
August 16, 2008 Belen, NM to Las Cruces, NM Back to Hacienda RV Resort - see entry #3 above for details. Move visiting with our friends, the Topley's
August 18, 2008 Las Cruces, NM to Ft. Davis, TX Camera icon Davis Mountains State Park - one of our all-time favorites! Some sites have full hookups and cable TV. Lots of trails to hike and a visit to the nearby McDonald Observatory is a must-see
August 22, 2008 Ft. Davis, TX - Home! Whoo-hoo.. praise the Lord we are home safely and had a great time!!
